199 OPPORTUNITY
LAB: SOCIAL RELATIONS LAB

Dr. Major’s Social Relations Lab is looking for several self-motivated, 
dedicated research assistants for our projects looking at the 
psychological and physiological effects of stress and the experience of 
prejudice.

POSITION DETAILS: This is an excellent opportunity especially for 
students who are interested in applying to graduate programs in 
psychology, or are just interested in learning more about how 
psychological research is conducted. You will receive excellent 
experience and training while making valuable contributions to a busy 
research laboratory. Some of the responsibilities include: participant 
recruitment; running participant sessions; collecting 
psychophysiological data; entering and scoring data; and general lab 
organizational duties. Particularly motivated students may have the 
opportunity to analyze and present data.

REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for male and female Psychology majors (at 
least 3.0 GPA) who can commit to the lab for at least 1 year (3 
quarters). Applicants should be extremely reliable, responsible, 
resourceful, and attentive to detail. Familiarity with Excel and SPSS, 
previous research experience desired, but not necessary. Tech savvy 
students are especially encouraged to apply!

PREFERRED TIME COMMITMENT: 9-12 hrs/wk (3-4 units), for at least 1 year 
(3 quarters).
