PSI CHI MEMBERS:

Psi Chi, the National Honors Psychology Society, would like to
announce that its first meeting of Spring 2007 will be at <b>5:00 pm
</b>on Thursday, <b>April 26</b>. It will be held in <span
style="font-weight: bold;">Psych 1523</span>.<span><br>
We are excited to announce that there
will be a short and interesting guest presentation from Professor Karen
Szumlinski of the
psychology department. Dr. Szumlinski researches</span> the cellular
mechanisms underlying the changes in brain and behaviour produced by
chronic exposure to drugs of abuse, in particular psychomotor
stimulants and alcohol. For more information, please visit her website: <span>

Dr. Szumlinski is also currently teaching Psy 115, "Neuropharmacology."

In addition to Dr. </span><span>Szumlinski</span><span>'s
presentation, we will also
be summarizing last month's meeting for members who were unable to
attend and giving new updates. Refreshments will once again be provided
for all
members who attend the meeting. </span><br>
For previously inducted
members (excluding Fall 2006 recruits), we still have some certificates
and pins. If you were unable to pick up your Psi Chi materials last
year, please come by and get them.<br>
We hope that you will be able to make it to the meeting and we look
forward to seeing you then!<br>

In
other news, we have begun our Spring recruitment-- applications are due
4/20 by 4pm in the Psych Department Office. If you know of anyone who
is interested in
joining, please tell them to look for upcoming announcements and flyers
posted around campus! In addition, we have a Facebook group, so please
join to receive updates about Psi Chi.<br>
