I run a supported living program in Isla Vista for my son who is a
high-functioning man with autism and an artist...age 36... and am
looking for a part time employee who is mature, patient and flexible. A
female would be preferred, who can work with him for 23 hours a week,
doing the following tasks...
dinner preparation
some food shopping
taking him to Goleta Valley Gym and motivating him to work-out
laundry
room maintaince
Salary is $10 an hour and you must have a car (there is an allowance for
gas).
My son lives with 3 other people who do not have disabilities and the
person I hire must be able to get along with the other residents of the
household who are all involved with my supported living program. The 23
hours needed are to be determined but mostly will be in the late
afternoon and evenings. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about
supported living and how my son has been fully integrated into the
community...the opportunity could also be used perhaps as a research
project fora course at UCSB.
