Hello Undergraduate Advisors,

My name is Jose Muro and I am the student coordinator for SIMS
(Summer Institute in Mathematics and Science) 2008. We are looking for
undergraduate and graduating students to be RAs (Resident Assistants) for
the SIMS 2008 Program. Attached to this e-mail is a flyer describing the
job description and requirements for the position. Could you please forward
this e-mail to students in your department that you think would benefit or
might be interested in this position. Being a past SIMS RA myself, I would
say that this job is every rewarding. Thank you.

The SIMS program brings incoming UCSB freshmen interested in science,
engineering, and mathematics to the UC Santa Barbara campus for a 2-week
science and engineering intensive residential program hosted by CNSI.
Program participants work with graduate mentors in research lab and
classroom settings to develop the skills necessary to excel in science
based classes at the university.

As RAs, you will be helping incoming UCSB freshmen in their transition to
college through mentoring and supporting during the two week SIMS program
(August 10th- August 22nd 2008)

P.S.: Deadline for the application is Friday, March 14, 2008.

Sincerely,

Jose Muro
