Hi,

The Santa Barbara Zoo will be participating in the National Wildlife
Federation?s *Frogwatch USA* frog and toad monitoring program. We are
currently in the process of recruiting volunteers for this citizen
science project.

Frogwatch USA. Volunteer for Frogwatch USA
Contribute to frog research with as little as 20 minutes a week!
Training will take place on Thursday, February 28th at 4:30pm -- 7:00pm

This year volunteers and staff at the Santa Barbara Zoo will be
participating in the National Wildlife Federation's Frogwatch USA frog
and toad monitoring program. The program involves listening for the
intensity and diversity of frog and toad calls for a few minutes after
sunset in any of Santa Barbara's many freshwater sloughs, ponds,
streams, or even in your own backyard.

As part of the Santa Barbara Zoo's Leap Day Celebration we will be
hosting a training session on Thursday February 28th from 4:30-7:00 to
help volunteers become comfortable with identifying frog calls and
reporting their data.

For more information on Frogwatch USA please visit the National Wildlife
Federation website www.nwf.org. If you are interested in participating
in the program with the Santa Barbara Zoo contact Piper Presley at (805)
962-5339 ext. 49 or email at ppresley at sbzoo.org.
