The EAP office has announced that they have extended the deadline for
the Academic Planning form. While _*you **must turn in the rest of your
application by the deadline*_, the UCSB EAP office will accept the
Academic Planning form up to two weeks later. If you have questions or
would like to confirm this with the EAP office, please email
<eapucsb at eap.ucsb.edu> or call 893-3763
In order for the Bio Advisors to sign the Academic Planning form for
you, you must fill out some additional forms that show them how going
abroad can be worked into your academic plans. Here's what you need to do:
1. Use the first link below to get a copy of the requirement sheet
for the major you intend to follow. Then, look at the
requirements for your major and where there are subject areas that
give you a choice between several courses, tentatively choose the
courses you think you would like to take. If you don't have a
hard copy of the UCSB general catalog, the third link below will
take you to the on line catalog where you can find course
descriptions.
2. Using the courses you picked and any other major requirements you
still need to complete (including any prep courses), put together
a schedule on the Major Progress Check request form (link #2)
showing how you will work EAP into your quarter by quarter schedule.
* Because you won't usually know what courses you will take
while abroad, try to schedule your electives for the
quarter/quarters you plan to be abroad and schedule your
specific area requirements during the quarters you will be here.
* The Proposed Courses links below (see #4) will help you
schedule the courses you intend to take here at UCSB. Unless
specifically noted, upper division EEMB and MCDB courses are
only offered once a year and in the same quarter year after
year. Be sure to pay close attention to upper division
prerequisites, when noted.
The links below will provide you with the forms and information you need
to plan out your schedule. If the links don't work, or you need further
instructions, stop by LSB 3320 between the hours of 9 and 1130am and
1-3pm and pick them up from one of the peer advisors.

When your done, send an email to <bioadv at lifesci.ucsb.edu> giving them a
list of two or three days, and the blocks of time on those days between
the hours of 9 and 1130am and 1-3pm when you are available, and we'll
set up an appointment to go over everything with you.
Hope the quarter is going well,
Bio Advising
