Greetings,

My name is Charlie Whitman, and I am an intern at Educational Programmes
Abroad, a study abroad program that focuses on allowing American college
students the opportunity to obtain an internship of their respective
fields in Europe. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more
about our program in hopes that you will find it a good match for a
number of your students.

Educational Programmes Abroad (EPA) has been arranging internships in
Europe since 1975. We have a very broad range of fields available in
politics, business, the arts, fashion, media and publications, health
sciences, medical research, law and theater. Our semester programs are
offered in a number of European cities, such as London and we also offer
eight-week summer internships. All internships are academic, non-paying
placements. At all sites semester students work at least three days per
week, depending on the needs of the organization. Many students work
four days, taking two half-days off to go to classes. Summer semester
students generally work five days a week and do not take classes.

We offer, specifically to your interest, internships for pre-med
students in the research labs of London teaching hospitals. Placements
are available in many different areas of medical research. The level of
work is comparable to graduate work in the US. Medical Research
internships provide hands-on experience in research laboratories of
teaching hospitals. All teaching hospitals are associated with the
University of London. Students have done research in respiratory
diseases and molecular genetics and worked in prenatal research as well
as in departments of chemical pathology, clinical chemistry,
biochemistry, physiology, microbiology and genetics.

The dates of the summer program are approximately June 2 -- July 27 or
June 16 -- August 10 and the fall is August 27 -- December 13. Deadlines
for the summer sessions are April 1 and for the fall session is May 1.

For more information about dates, fees, program information and for
application materials, you can visit our website at http://

be more than welcome to send you copies of our program brochures upon
request. If you have any questions, please call our US office at (585)
275-8850 or email us at usoffice2 at epa-internships.org

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
