Please send this out to all the MCDB and EEMB majors.

The director and founder of Adventures in Caring, a nonprofit 
organization in Santa Barbara, will be speaking on Tuesday, October 9 in 
Chemistry 1179 at 7 PM. This organization teaches its volunteers 
communications skills and then assigns them to visit either a 
convalescent home or a hospital floor to speak with those who are ill 
and need of someone to talk to.

The communication skills that are taught will be useful to you in all 
your relationships. Now that medical schools and other professional 
schools are interested in fostering a good bedside manner, they have 
been particularly impressed with our students who participate in this 
program. The time commitment is two hours a week.

Come check it out and hear from other students who are participating in 
the program.

Pizza will be served.
