***RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY IN MOLECULAR BIOLOGY & MICROBIAL ECOLOGY FOR 199
CREDIT***

We are looking for a motivated junior/senior undergraduate to assist
with an NSF-funded interdisciplinary research project that is exploring
the interactions between microbial communities and their viruses in an
extreme environment, the Salton Sea.

Specific responsibilities include using basic molecular techniques to
assess the abundance and diversity of microbes and some data entry using
Excel. Previous experience with PCR and good sterile technique is
preferred but not required (training will be provided). The student
will have the opportunity to enroll in 199 credit through either the
MCDB or EEMB department.
