EEMB 166. Field approaches to terrestrial plant and ecosystem ecology

This is a relatively new and small class focused on how ecologists work
in the field to answer questions about plant communities and ecosystems.
It is an intensive field course in local habitats examining exotic plant
invasions, seed banks, resource cycling, vegetation succession, and
species diversity. Lectures introduce ecological concepts and field
methodologies. There is a significant writing component to the class
and several students have gotten it to count towards their writing
requirement. EEMB 3 is a prerequisite, though interested students with
other background can ask the instructor for approval.
