[Biology-U-L] Graduating Senriors: Internship at the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory

The Golden Gate Raptor Observatory in San Francisco is seeking four 
interns to facilitate their work during the fall season*.* The GGRO is 
dedicated to the conservation of raptors and to community involvement in 
wildlife research. The internships begin* July 9, 2007 and last through 
December 31, 2007*. Interns will spend about 90% of the work week in the 
field and the remaining 10% in the office. Housing is provided and a 
stipend of $100 per week is provided.

*Duties *will include: Identifying and counting migrating raptors, 
trapping and banding migrating raptors, radio-tracking migrating 
raptors, teaching and interpretation, coordinating volunteer activities, 
tending lure bird colony, and support of office staff. GGRO internships 
will give recent graduates a broad-based background in conducting a 
volunteer-staffed wildlife study.

*Qualifications:* a degree in biological science or related field with-

   * excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working with people
   * experience in and passion for bird identification and wildlife study
   * maturity, self motivation, and ability to work on steep hills
   * a vehicle is strongly recommended
