   My name is Dixie McCulloch, and I am the program assistant to 
Columbia University's Amgen Scholars Program.  The program provides 
$4,000 stipends plus housing to 27 undergraduates to perform 
biology-related research in laboratories at Columbia University and 
Barnard College.  In addition to working on original research, the 
students meet weekly with other undergraduates performing research at 
Columbia University to discuss and present their work.  The Amgen 
Scholars Program website is located at
