Undergraduate Research Assistant Needed 

to work in algal ecology lab at UCSB, (Paid position) 

We are seeking motivated and independent life sciences undergraduate 
students to assist in research that will examine how biodiversity 
affects ecological processes. Student would work in the laboratory of 
Bradley Cardinale, in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and marine 
Biology, and will be partially responsible for experiments that use 
freshwater algae to examine diversity's effect on primary production.

Work duties would include setting up and maintaining experimental 
apparatus, collecting and storing algae samples, counting cells using a 
microscope and data entry. Student must be able to commit to 10 hours 
per week minimum.

Applicants should be life sciences majors who have taken courses in 
biology, ecology or evolution. Interest in ecological questions is a 
bonus. Training in use of equipment and algae identification will be 
provided.
